Carlota asked me to relate how I became a (rabid) Vicente fan. It was my son who actually bought and played Oblivion and said I had to come see this really neat character. It was Vicente. He intrigued me. Such contradiction and depth in a mere game character. Sinister and dangerous, but at the same time kind and friendly. Eloquent and charming... and a vampire who is an assassin. What gives? So I began to play Oblivion.

My first (female) character fell in love with him and was turned by him. But I never got to see him unless I was in the Sanctuary. Bummer. Bad lighting there too. Then I found the mod to allow you to play a look-alike character. I keep 'my' Vicente in full vamp mode, no feeding, to keep those high, wide cheekbones and slanted eyebrows I've come to love. I cheat a bit - made him impervious to daylight so he's a daywalker. The sun is still bright and hurts his eyes though. I also gave him every charm spell I could so he could talk to normal people without them yelling "Get away from me you filthy beast!" (That really hurts his feelings - he LIKES people, actually.)

I built for him a quiet spot for a getaway - a tower to the NE of the Imperial City. It's an old watchtower he refurbished. The romantic bedroom has a large balcony outside where you can see the extraordinary view (or make love in the moonlight). He grows strawberry plants on the balcony. Did you know he loves strawberries? The tower also has a large practice room/armory (he collects rare swords) and a secret basement to stay in when the villagers come rampaging with their torches and pitchforks. And a really nice bathroom with big tub (fed from underground hot springs, no doubt).

Anyway, it's easy to see I've gone head over heels. The last two years or so I have built up quite a storyline about Vicente and his soulmate Eve. I have started writing it down fanfic style, but don't know yet if I want to share it or not. Only have one chapter so far.
But, after some adventures in their own time, I have brought them up through time into the Victorian era (they worked for the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen as master thieves, met Dracula's Mina Harker, and waltzed their way through several balls and parties given by Mina for the group of London vampires she has brought into a group for sharing information). I've also brought them up to modern times. You should see Vicente in a black cashmere sweater, black dress pants, assorted gold jewelry, Rolex, and his dark sunglasses driving his black Mercedes roadster convertible. It's positively inspiring. He looks like a millionaire playboy.

Heard enough of my delusions? As soon as I figure out how to mesh correctly, I'm going to make that cashmere sweater, darn it.
